received an AB from Stanford in 1905 and MD from Columbia in 1909. He practiced
pediatrics in San Francisco. This excellent biography, subtitled "The Life Story
of a Trail-blazer on Six Frontiers", is a fascinating account of harsh realities
and a restless man during the western migration.
